Campus schema

Waylocate campus maps are backed by spatial-campus-v1 documents, JSON bundles describing buildings, floors, geometry, topology, and routing graphs.

Document structure

A campus document contains:

  • Campus metadata: slug, display name, venue type, theme extras
  • Buildings: geo anchor, floor stack, geometry, cells, portals
  • Routing graph: traversable edges derived from walls, doors, and portals

Geometry layer

Floor geometry forms a planar straight-line graph (PSLG):

  • Vertices: points in floor-plan space
  • Edges: WALL (physical boundary) or SEPARATOR (virtual divider inside a room)
  • Openings: doors, passages, windows, cross-floor portals

Consumers must ignore superseded edges; exporters should omit them.

Topology layer

A DCEL algorithm produces cells: maximal enclosed regions used for routing and selection.

  • FOUNDATIONAL: bounded by walls; physical rooms
  • VIRTUAL: sub-divisions of foundational rooms via separators

Leaf cells are the authoritative routing units.
