Coordinates

Units

All distances are in metres unless a field name includes an explicit unit suffix. Angles are in degrees. Timestamps are Unix milliseconds.

Floor-plan space

Each building defines a 2D Cartesian coordinate system:

  • The origin corresponds to the geo-anchor (building.anchor, WGS-84).
  • The +Y axis points toward geographic north rotated by floor_map_axis_deg degrees.
  • The +X axis is 90° clockwise from +Y.
  • translation (dx, dy): offset from the plan origin to the geo-anchor, in floor-plan metres.

All vertex positions, opening positions, cell centroids, and anchor positions are in floor-plan space. All floors share one XY plane per building, differing in z_bottom_m / z_top_m.

Converting to WGS-84

Floor-plan metres convert to latitude/longitude using the building anchor, translation, and floor_map_axis_deg. This enables blended indoor/outdoor routing and GPS here endpoints in the embed protocol.

Embed references

The embed SDK and protocol use slug references (building/room, here, pin:lat, lng) rather than raw coordinates in customer-facing APIs. Coordinates are internal to the campus bundle.
